The Idea Fairy Commeth.
One thing about making a custom made snow globe, is people always want to give you ideas on how you can make it better. We get requests from folks who think we should take their photos and make them into 3-D figurines, and find ways to suspend pieces of confetti so they never fall to the bottom of the globe. People say “wouldn’t it be cool if you put a little fan inside each globe so the glitter kept swirling and I didn’t have to shake it?”
To all these people and their individual idea fairies, uh, thanks.
But when I tell you what it will cost to have a single figurine sculpted, molded and hand painted, most of you say, “I don’t want to pay that much.”
Yes, and that’s why we stick to what we do best. If you have 17 bazillion dollars to invest in a single snow globe, buy the company and make it yourself. Seriously, I won’t mind a bit.
And frankly, while the itsy-bitsy fan idea is intriguing, if you are too lazy to pick up your snow globe and shake it when the mood strikes, I don’t know that this is the product for you. Maybe you should buy a wii™ gaming system and get off the couch. (I can see the emails already: why don’t you create a wii game about shaking snowglobes?)
